Although we (ManUtd) won 4-0 against Stoke City, It goes to show that Manchester United need to solve a few problems. Number one is that we need good strikers. I stood up for Berbatov so many times in the past but we realistically need to take the emphasis and importance off Wayne Rooney, and have that responsibility shared with someone else! Who? The list is endless! But even Rooney himself said, we need a top class striker!

Time to get rid of Berbatov? I’m beginning to think so. Also Foster, Owen, Carrick & Anderson. We need replacements all over the field. Best players for MU in my opinion this season? Van Dar Sar, Evra, Nani, Giggs & Rooney.. There may be more but these caught my eye more this season.. Esp Evra! We also need to play Obertan more! He’s got so much skill! We need some flair in the team like we had before!

Loosing Cristiano Ronaldo last season was hard for the team to cope. It’s taken a while to adjust to the new formation etc.. But we really need new blood in our team! We have such a large team but we need to make cuts and bring in new players who are hungry and willing to put all on the line. Our players are getting old! Come on Man Utd.. Sort it out!!!

Anyway.. Divert the attention away from league football and let’s concentrate on the World Cup! England! COME ON!

It’s been a long.. LONG while since I’ve added any posts to my blog. I deactivated it for a while because I’ve been really busy with work, and also I’ve been doing loads of random other things.. but I’ve finally found some time to update and write a few posts.

Needless to say, I don’t think I can pump out posts the way I did before (I think I did 5 or 6 posts in one day!), but I do aim to get posts done so please come back and check it out sometime.

Since being away from WordPress, I’ve been watching this program where this guy takes on seemingly impossible situations to show the viewer how to survive and get out alive. I’m talking about the man they call.. Bear Grylls! The program which is called ‘Bear Grylls, Born Survivor’ shows on the Discovery channel and broadcasts conveniently when I arrived home from work at 11pm!

I’ve been watching it for a while now actually.. and was introduced to it by a guy at work who said there was this crazy man who gets dumped in a desert and eats snakes and drinks his own urine! That was enough to intrigue me into trying to find this program on Sky, just to see what all the hype was about.

After one show, I was hooked. Better than Eastenders, better than Corrie! This was real stuff! Eating all animals and insects and making tools with materials from his rucksack or making a flame torch from some bark off a tree or using material from his shirts dipped in the fat from an animal!

It’s kinda got me in a survival mode! I have since taken his info on dealing with survival situations, such as being able to make a fire where ever you are in the world, in whatever condition! I went to a shop in Westfield called Kathmandu (www.kathmandu.co.uk), which sells camping gear and got me a ‘Fire Steel’ which is basically a flint and striker, and cost me £8.99!

It creates sparks which burn up to 3000 degrees which should be enough to light some dry tinder, which then lights larger pieces of wood (Tinder being an easy to light, combustible material such as cotton wool). Once you’ve got the tinder burning, you then add all the other pre-prepared woods you’ve collected and.. BAM! You have yourself a survival style camp fire! Not bad eh? Okay.. I guess it’s a guy thing then!

Anyways, go watch the program and be prepared to see some amazing and very disgusting things lol.. Like eating a scorpion, meat off a dead animal.. RAW! Crazy! Anyways, Enjoy!

I bought it because it was highly recommended by my girlfriend, who was asked by a representative of Oral B to review their product. Once she had figured it all out, she told me its the best toothbrush she’s ever had! Now that’s really speaking volumes to someone who uses traditional toothbrushes that’s powered by the movement of your hand and arm lol! She has recently posted her in-depth review of this toothbrush so make sure you go check her out here!

I noted before buying this product the recommendation that this was the only toothbrush to be approved by the British Dental Health Foundation which was a bonus seeing as I have a phobia of dentists lol.. This meant that I would be getting a dentist feel clean at home! Result!

Admittedly, the thought of another gadget to add to my collection was quite appealing.. I mean what other toothbrush has a wireless ‘SmartGuide’?! Amazing I thought! Not only that, but it has 5 different settings for cleaning your teeth! Those are:

• Daily Clean
• Sensitive (for gentler cleaning)
• Polish (to remove stains)
• Massage
• Deep Clean

Anyway I bought the item with no hesitation and was considering purchasing some additional brush heads but eventually decided against it as the toothbrush comes with 3 different heads already within! Packaging looked very similar to the other versions of this toothbrush, although this one was larger and also had a see-through plastic window, which allowed prospective buyers to see the SmartGuide display unit which is usually on demo mode whilst in the box. I also found the colour of the box quite appealing as well as the logos of the awards accredited to this product! I felt I was buying something of high quality in this toothbrush!

Reading some of the functions of this toothbrush has to offer actually amazed me! There were figures like ’3D technology pulsates 40,000 times, rotates 8,800 per minute and also oscillates to remove 2 X as much plaque as an ordinary manual toothbrush’ lol.. Even if you haven’t a clue about that statement, still sounds pretty impressive!

In the past, I have used battery operated toothbrushes costing around £10-£15 and deep down I was hoping that those cheaper versions would not be on the same scale in terms of feel, quality and effectiveness, compared to my new Oral-B 5000, or I would be utterly disappointed! On opening the box, you find the SmartGuide, all the warranties and instruction guides, 3 different brush heads, a brush case, the toothbrush itself and the toothbrush charger which sits on a flat surface and charges your brush whilst within the stand! Plug however is the two pin plug suitable only for shaver/electric toothbrush sockets. I managed to buy a normal three pin adaptor for the regular UK mains plug at around £2 in my local hardware store! Also I’d like to say that the charger stand is really low profile, really lightweight and has space to store your brush heads when not in use! They’ve thought of everything! lol..

When you first remove the Wireless SmartGuide from the box, you will need to adjust the time on the unit.. which can be a little tricky but be patient when removing the covers! They do come off! Setting the actual time etc is really simple as long as you follow the instructions. Below is a picture of the carry case that is supplied in the box! It protects your toothbrush from any knocks and scratches whilst you transport this amazing teeth and gum cleaning device!

It really was trial and error the first time I used this toothbrush. I was so used to ‘brushing’ that you end up doing that motion but after a while you get used to it and you will improve your brushing habits before you know it! My technique is to move the head of the brush around the furthest teeth at the back of the mouth first and for the second half of the clean, concentrate on the front teeth! In both instances, cleaning on the front, back and surface of the actual tooth and also on the gum area! Trust me, it sounds like hard work but it isn’t! The Wireless SmartGuide helps by counting down/up the recommended brushing time, makes you aware if your brushing too hard and also tells you what program you are using! Also gives you a smiley face to smile when you’ve reached your target time.. and that face starts winking at you when you’ve passed it lol! It adds a nice touch to the unit! I was really impressed with this Wireless SmartGuide because it’s wireless! There are no trailing wires coming from the toothbrush to the unit or anything of the sort and the best thing is when the SmartGuide is not in use, you can use it as a normal clock! lol.. Practical when in use, useful when not! What a great combination!

This Triumph 5000 has an LED indicator which shows you the current battery life of this rechargeable toothbrush. Without charge, this toothbrush can easily manage at least 10 days of 2 X 3 minute a day usage! Some have even gone to say that it can last in excess of 2 weeks without charge! That is a figure I have yet to test myself but I know that the battery life on this is amazing.

The toothbrush itself changes its brushing motion for a few seconds to indicate to the user that you have reached the recommended time too, even without the SmartGuide around you! No lie people, it really did make my teeth feel really clean.. In fact the cleanest it’s probably ever been since I last went to the dentist! That’s even with me brushing twice a day for 3 minutes a time with a regular toothbrush! Not sure about the whiteness as yet but definitely the cleanliness! I decided against using the whitening bristles and opted for the Precision Clean ones to really help clean in those hard to reach places! I’m guessing that’s why I didn’t see a dramatic change in whiteness, but that’s not to say that it doesn’t produce whiter teeth in the time Oral B claim!

Overall I am extremely pleased with this toothbrush! After more than 30 days of using this product, I find my teeth and gums look and feel healthier, and you notice the difference especially when you lick your teeth! lol! You know you do it occasionally after brushing so don’t deny it people! I also find that my mouth is left far more refreshed than when I used to brush with a normal toothbrush. One thing I have done which I am not sure if you are supposed to, is when I do not have a tongue scraper handy, I brush my tongue with it for about 20 seconds and it does pretty much the same job as one! I know the RRP of this toothbrush is quite expensive but I must admit that I cannot see myself changing my toothbrush now to any other electric or manual toothbrush (unless a new, more superior one that Oral B produce comes out!), and I am hoping with me looking after this product and changing the heads when recommended, that it will last me a long time! It is definitely money well spent in my opinion and if ever you get the chance to try or even buy this product, give it a go! I’m sure you wont be disappointed! I definitely wasnt!

Apart from using the Palmolive Odour neutralizing liquid handwash to which I have done a review about earlier in January, there is a simple tip you can do which is free! And that is….

When cutting, crushing or dealing with any vegetables like onions, garlic etc, don’t wash your hands in warm or hot water! What this does is it will ‘cook’ the smell on to your hands and no matter how much ordinary soap you use (apart from the Palmolive mentioned earlier), the smell won’t budge!

Instead, use cold water and soap and you’ll find pretty much no smell of onions or garlic on your hands! Result! Well.. It’s either that or just wear gloves when you cook! lol.. Pretty simple huh?! Enjoy!

Well guys, again it’s another post on a product I have purchased abroad and had the time to review! Well its a soap this time! I decided to buy this soap because whilst watching the ‘Cotto Vs Pac-Man’ fight last November, this commercial came up during one of the many intervals!

Basically its about two friends seeing each other at a drug store. The woman in pink has a husband thats sick which is why she’s spending so much money on medicine! The woman in blue is buying Safeguard to protect her family from germs and flu! They meet later in the future and the woman who was in the blue asks whether her husband is still sick.. the woman replies, No, I’ve learnt now, and then goes on to buy Safeguard!

Cool No?! Well to me that interested me in buying some lol.. I was sucked into this commercial! Not to mention the amount of times it was repeated in the intervals of the boxing match!

So I bring it back to the UK and give it a go! I purchased a special three pack which was on offer in Watson’s drugstore in Philippines. It’s Menthol apparently but I never really noticed the aroma that much. It’s basically a bar of soap that kills germs! The writing on the packet states.. ‘Safeguard has been proven effective in removing skin germs that may cause skin infection and perspiration odor’. It’s also manufactured by Procter and Gamble Philippines Inc!

It also states that this product is ‘Excellent skin germ protection to help promote your family’s health’ and ‘has the backing of the Philippine Association of Medical Technologists’.

I can’t say whether Its helped me or not.. but I do notice that it does dry your skin out slightly after you dry off from the shower.. but also I havent been sick since coming back from Philippines in November so it must be doing something right! I would recommend this product purely on the basis of its recommendations by the Philippine Association of Medical Technologists and also on based on its price! Was it a good buy? Yeah why not! It’s not all the time that you get a product like this and be able to review it!

Also, Whilst I was out there, I noticed that they have now gone into the clothes washing industry! An additive in Tide washing powder and washing bar! Tide being one of the leading clothes washing powders in Philippines! Here is the advert below that shows what I mean! Notice the reaction when the ‘locals’ see the Safeguard logo! I’m sure you’ll get the gist of the advert! Enjoy!

I’ll be honest and say, no matter how much you brush, any existing odours or tastes will not go away fully, unless you clean your tongue! That’s where all the bacteria harbour and continue to do as unless you clean it! I’ll tell you now how I go about it!

Make sure you use good toothpaste to brush your teeth with!! Why use Asda/Tesco budget when you can spend a few more pennies and buy some Crest, Colgate or Sensodyne for example?! After brushing your teeth, rinse your mouth out with water! I’ve seen people brush.. then spit whatever they have in their mouth out and clean their toothbrush and thats it! No! You brushed your teeth and now whatever was on your teeth is now all around your mouth and gum’s so rinse!

Now.. Buy a good Tongue cleaner/scraper.. I found the best ones are the ones that look like an upside down triangle, attached to a handle.

I got mine from Wilkinson’s I believe.. or perhaps it was Asda lol..! Now this scraping process might take a while to master as you may gag up slightly at first but just take your time and scrape with soft to medium force. You’ll find gunk of different consistencies being scraped away.. which may even be slightly coloured depending what you’ve eaten or whatever was on your tongue.

Rinse again.. And finally mouthwash.. Not a necessity but good for keeping it fresh! I recommend Corsodyl as it helps kill bacteria and eases any mouth ulcers you may have.. but leaves a minty after taste! Great huh?! Now get out there and enjoy your clean, minty fresh breath!

If you are just in need of some regular effective mouthwash, then I would say Listerine because they are a trusted brand but also they have antibacterial qualities to kill unwanted germs!

Well I visited its own branded grocery store within the shopping centre! In the sweets isle, they had such an array of chewing gum, I was shocked! I’ve visited Makro here in London and they don’t even a quarter of the varieties they did in this store! Of the many packs I’ve bought back, there was one I really enjoyed and I’ll tell you why!

It came in single sealed packets and inside the little packet was two gum pellets like the ones you get in normal packs of gum back here! The brand is Wrigleys which is a good start! Trusted and well known! It’s a doublemint flavour which is ultra cooling and has a sweet undertone to it! Mmm! Lasts a long time and tastes really nice!

Not bad for something that costs the same as a McDonalds Double Cheese Burger! That’s right! £1.40 max for a packet of over 100 gum packets! Amazing! So of ever you get a chance to visit this amazing country, go buy some amazing items! I am not affiliated with any of the brands above, I just enjoy its minty fresh taste!

There are chewing gums like Hubba Bubba and Wrigley’s Juicy Fruit which may taste nice but boy do they lose their flavour within seconds! Okay perhaps 1 minute 30 seconds max lol..

Wrigley have actually released a new chewing gum recently called ’5 Gum’! There is one flavour in particular that I absolutely love and it is Tropical flavour which is named ‘Pulse’! Absolutely amazing!! Just the smell when you open the pack really gives you a teaser of what your mouth will be in for!

Once you open the metallic orange wrapper the gum itself looks quite textured! Placing the gum in your mouth, you’ll notice the flavour from the onset! Then you begin to chew and you’ll instantly feel the textures! It’s like a crunchy flat gum! Mmm!

Now I find this gum lasts a long time n keeps its flavour well! I find that obviously the initial strong flavour will run out bit that tropical tone lasts very well afterwards! I’d definitely recommend this gum to anyone who likes a good chew once in a while!

The only thing I’ve noticed is when I have offered it to my friends and family, they initially thought that I was offering them a condom lol!! Crazy huh! The packaging just has that sleek shiny black box that oozes sexy! I guess that’s where the comparisons end! It comes in a few different flavours which I have yet to try but wouldn’t hesitate to buy them! ’Cobolt’ is a cooling peppermint and ‘Electro’ is a spearmint flavour!

Perhaps not a pack.. More like a small container! I opened the lid and looked at the amazing array of colours of these glossy flavoursome beans! There are so many different flavours to try that it would be impossible to name them all! But.. Just to get your mouths watering, I’ll list a few below!

• Coconut
• Watermelon
• Chocolate
• Bubble Gum

You can buy these pretty much everywhere! Theme parks and places like Hamleys Toy Store or Selfridges are the best for being able to choose the quantities of the beans and also the flavours! In Selfridges there were flavours I’ve never even thought possible like jalapeno!! Can you believe it?!

Well I can’t wait to eat these sweets so if your feeling like having a few beans which are not of the ‘healthy’ nature lol.. As in fruit and veg lol.. then don’t hesitate to try some of these sweet flavoursome jelly beans! I do not work for any companies mentioned above, I just enjoy the taste of these lovely beans!
